지식정보화 사회에서 디지털 매체와 정보기술의 발달은 시각장애학생에게 더 많은 기회를 제공할 수도 있으면서 동시에 정안 학생들과의 지식정보 격차를 심화시킬 위협을 초래할 수도 있다. 이 연구의 목적 은 디지털 대체자료에 관한 국내외 동향을 분석함으로써 시각장애학생용 디지털 교과서 개발에 주는 시 사점을 찾는 것이었다. 이러한 연구 목적에 따라 데이지 표준 등 디지털 대체자료에 관한 국내외의 표준, 국내외에서 개발되어 활용되고 있는 디지털 대체자료 저작 및 변환 도구, 디지털 대체자료 재생도구, 디 지털 대체자료 서비스 등에 대해 각각 논의하였다. 이 연구는 시각장애학생용 디지털 교과서 개발을 위 해 EPUB3 채택, 별도의 저작도구 및 재생도구 개발, 서비스 전달체계 재구조화 등을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to propose the recommendations for developing digital textbooks for students with visual impairments by analyzing the trends regarding digital accessible materials. This study identified and discussed the standards, authoring and conversion tools, playback devices, and delivery services of digital accessible materials for individuals with visual impairments in Korea and foreign countries. The recommendations included the acceptance of EPUB3 as the standard, the development of an authoring tool and a playback device, and the restructuring of service delivery of digital accessible textbooks for students with visual impairments.
