This study analyzes the comparison between before and after of education in information finders of Automated
External Defibrillator (AED) within 6 months and the influence upon self-confidence in undergraduates. Thus, the aim is
to be conducive to arranging regular educational program in order to be continuously maintained the proper usage of
AED and the information on AED. This study targeted 43 university undergraduates from May 21, 2009 to May 22. The
analytical method was analyzed by using SPSS WIN 12.0 Version program. Statistical significance was set to p<0.05. Results
are as follows; As for difference in knowledge, attitude, self-confidence, and skill performance accuracy before and
after education, the knowledge increased by 0.16 points from 4.61 points before education to 4.77 points after education
(p<0.05). Attitude increased by 0.36 points from 4.17 points before education to 4.53 points after education (p<0.001). Selfconfidence
increased by 0.24 points from 3.93 points before education to 4.17 points after education (p<0.05). Skill performance
accuracy increased by 1.51 points from 2.15 points before education to 3.66 points after education (p<0.001).
In the results that AED, knowledge, attitude, and skill performance accuracy have influence upon self-confidence, the attitude
toward AED (b=0.530, t=3.834) before education showed significant influence upon self-confidence (p<0.001). The
attitude toward AED (b=0.734, t=5.949) even after education was indicated to have significant influence upon self-confidence
(p<0.001).
