본 연구는 남성노인들을 대상으로 성매매를 하고 있 는 외국인 여성 5명에 대한 면담 내용을 분석한 것이 었다. 면담은 연구자가 성매매 거래를 위하여 현장에 나섰던 연구대상자를 직접 만나서 심층적으로 이루 어졌다. 면담내용의 분석 결과, 그들은 대부분 우연 한 경로나 소개에 의해 성매매를 시작하게 되었으며, 대다수가 성 전파성 질환으로 의심되는 증상을 호소 한 것으로 드러났다. 또한 불법 체류 신분 및 불법적 행위에 대한 검거를 두려워하고 있었으며, 자신들의 행위에 대하여 수치심이 심했고 자존감이 저하되어 있었다. 그들이 성매매를 지속하고 있는 주요한 이유 는 재정적 곤란 상태 때문 그리고 돈을 벌어서 귀향 할 수 있으면 곧 그만둘 것이라는 기대 때문이었다. 본고의 후반부에서는 남성 노인들을 위한 건전한 성 문화, 외국인 근로자의 인권보호와 지원 및 성매매 여성의 문제점 등이 논의되었다.
This study examined the circumstances surrounding female foreigners’ decision to trade sex for money in Korea. Five Chinese women who have worked in the sex trade for the Korean older men in Jongro district in Seoul participated in individual in-depth qualitative interviews. Interviewer recruited them through street outreach. The main reason why they chose the sex trade work was financial difficulties due to losing their initial jobs in Korea. According to their statements, they suffered from so much personal aggrievement from the older men while they were providing illegal sexual services. They also complained of possible STD symptoms. The implications of these findings were discussed in terms of eradicating sex trade as well as setting up a culture of a healthy sexuality for the older men through civic education.
서론 연구방법 결과 논의
