The purpose of this study was to examine the influence between the individual goal orientation and the sequential process of motivational climate → basic psycholonical needs → instrinsic motivation → negative emotion based on HMIEM(Hierarchical Model of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation). This study conducted a questionaire survey with 768 elementary school students who are in 4th, 5th & 6th grades. The measurement tool was verified by confirmatory factor analysis for retaining construct validation. Through SEM(Structural Equation Model) proved the sequential process of HMIEM, mastery climate made positive influence on perceived competence on the other hand performance climate didn’t. And perceived competence reduced negative emotion in P.E class by reinforcing instrinsic motivation. As , the impact of perceived competence was lager on the instrinsic motivation at lower self-construals group than higher group, it made sense that the sequential process of HMIEM was dependent on the individual achievement goal orientation. As well as, it seems that the teaching method based on mastery climate was more efficient way to make students reinforcing instrinsic motivation and reducing negative emotion on P.E class than the teaching method on performance climate.
