This study is to observe the effect of art therapy based on the object relations theory of Winnicott on
interpersonal relation and internet addiction of youth. The subject is a first grader of high school female
student requested by the teacher in charge, who are experiencing difficulty in interpersonal relation due to
symptom of internet addiction. The program consists of total 38 sessions which have been performed
individually and structured and non-structured programs were run parallel. According to the findings,
first, in the art therapy program, maternal care strengthens psychological structure that the subject can
communicate with the outside. initially she volunteered to withdraw the school, and then made peer
relation voluntary, discuss for entering into alternative school and expressed her expectation for new peer
relations. From theses appearances, the positive mental and behavioral changes were observed. Second, It
proved that the art therapy in a facilitative environment which fulfil the desire in the relation to reality
plays a role of proper intermediate object, affecting improvement of judgement between the cyber world
and real world. From the appearances that she set up the path by finding self in the stable relationship
with the therapist, found positive constructive meaning of internet use for the future, tried to recognize and
control the risk of violent game, it is observed that the art therapy program gave positive effects.
