이 연구는 청각장애학교 초등학교에 재직중인 교사 2명을 대상으로 언어교육방법의 선택과 효율성 을 알아보기 위하여 수행하였다. 연구 참여자의 선정은 특수교육 총 경력이 15년 이상이며 청각장애 학생을 지도한 경력이 10년 이상인 교사 중에서 청각장애교육 전공으로 석사학위 이상을 수료한 경 우로 제한하였다. 연구 참여자 면담결과를 내러티브 방법으로 제시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 언어교육방법의 선택배경은 청각장애학생의 언어와 교육적 요구에 기초하고, 수화와 구화 중에서 선 택하기보다 두 가지 방법을 모두 수용하고 있었다. 청각장애학생을 위한 언어교육방법의 효율성은 청각장애학생에 대한 인식에 영향을 받고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 또한 언어교육방법에 대 한 교사의 인식보다 청각장애학생과 부모의 요구 등에 영향을 받는 것을 또한 시사하고 있다.
In the hearing impairment education the selection of the language teaching method was important factor to ensure the effective education itself. The purpose of this study was to illustrate the selection and effectiveness in language teaching method of teachers who were working in the level of elementary at school for hearing impairment. Two teachers were participated for this study. The interview method was utilized for this study. Researcher and the two teachers met the fifty to one and half hour every three times for this study. The results of this study were that: (a) the selection of language teaching method of the hearing impairment school teachers in the level of elementary was influenced by the hearing impaired students' language and educational needs; and (b) the effectiveness of the language teaching method was influenced by the teachers' attitudes toward the hearing impaired students. Therefore this study concluded that the needs of the hearing impaired students and parents was main factor to select the language teaching method, and the attitudes on deaf culture and sign language also was main factor to determine the effective language teaching method.
