This research is to review hitherto studies regarding Pilot Aptitude Test, examine the construct of those studies, and identify new factors that can be employed in the test. To achieve these objectives, up-to-date researches on Pilot Aptitude Test and tests conducted in various countries were scrutinized, classifying pilot aptitude into cognitive and personality perspective. Through Pilot Aptitude Test, cognitive abilities that satisfied predict validity were CBT, decoding during paper and pencil test, treading a maze, scale reading, mechanic principle, and panel reading, while characteristic and personality traits included extroversion, activity, stability, autonomy, low antisocial personality, masculinity and positive emotions. Since currently adopted Pilot Aptitude Test in South Korea is the translated version of the one employed in foreign countries, developing a test set reflecting indigenous settings is crucial. And departing from the convention mainly focussing on measuring cognitive ability, practical reflection of characteristic and personality factors should be included. To enhance the predict validity of the test, in addition to the thorough process of accumulating and analyzing every datum related to pilot, continuous research would be the necessary for precise investigation on pilot aptitude.
