services are getting important in the current society. As a result, social media also have influenced on
the way of workplace learning. However, in spite of their values regarding openness, participation, and
sharing, it has been difficult to apply such widely accepted social media into the situation of vocational
training in Korea due to the technical and administrative issues. In the present study, a newly developed
social learning platform for enterprise was utilized to vocational training for 302 employees in an
agriculture-related company during four weeks. The data from 112 survey participants, their log files left
in the system, and the final evaluation score were analyzed to prove the effects of learners’ previous
experiences of social media, their perceptions in regard to social learning on the satisfaction, participation,
and their learning achievement in the social media-based vocational training program. The results of
multiple regression analysis indicated that the previous experiences of social media did not impact directly
to the satisfactory perceptions on social learning, their learning participation, and learning performance;
however, the satisfaction predicted the level of participation which also predicted learning achievement
significantly. Such results implied that those who do not have enough proficiency in social media are
also able to participate in the social activity and social learning actively when given proper learning
guide and tasks for the training program.
