본 논문에서는 지역의 특산물을 테마로 운영되고 있는 박물관 중 하나인 괴산 청결고추박물관을 사례로써 살펴보겠다. 청결고추박물관의 문제점을 분석하고 괴산 지역에서 박물관이 해야 할 역할 과 방향성에 대해 제안해보고자 한다. 그 과정에서 앞서 언급한 사회적 기능과 지역사회와 공존하 는 박물관으로써의 역할을 강조하겠다. 또한, 더 나아가서 청결고추박물관의 변화를 통해 지역주민 들의 지역에 대한 자긍심을 고취시키고 그것이 후에는 주민들의 적극적인 참여로 돌아와 괴산 지 역의 지역문화자원 발굴과 지역 경제 활성화의 기여할 수 있는 방향으로도 발전시켜야 할 것이다.
This article examines Goesan Chunggyul-gochu-museum as an example, which is managed in theme of local speciality. Problems in Chunggyul-gochu-museum would be analysed. And the role and direction for museum in Goesan area would be proposed. In the process, the role for museum; social functioning and coexistence with local community is emphasized. The museum has to develop to inspire the pride for local resident in Goesan, which returns active participation of the resident in the future. And the museum has to be developed further, which can contribute to local cultural resource and economy activation.
