본 연구는 자연친화 활동에서 영유아가 나타내는 자연에 대한 태도와 인식의 과정을 알아보기 위해 서 울 소재 어린이집 2곳에서 2, 3세 영유아 48명을 대상으로 실시했던 3개월간의 자연친화 활동의 내용 을 토대로 하였다. 자연친화 활동 안에 담겨져 있는 영유아들의 자연에 대한 태도와 인식의 과정을 살 펴보기 위해 자연친화 활동일지, 관찰일지, 활동녹화자료 및 포트폴리오 등의 자료 속 발화내용을 전 사하여 중심어휘를 중심으로 질적 분석을 하였고 수업태도 평가지를 통해 활동 전-후의 수업태도의 변화를 양적 분석하였다. 그 결과 영유아가 가지는 자연에 대한 태도는 기대와 관심, 신기함과 호기 심, 감정이입, 소통과 상호작용이었고, 자연에 대한 인식의 과정은 집중과 발견, 확장을 통해 자연의 생명, 성장, 변화의 내용을 나타내었다. 또한 주의집중, 지시 따르기, 협동, 참여, 타인 반응에 대처 하는 행동을 포함하는 수업태도가 자연친화 활동 전-후 차이를 보였다. 부가적으로 교사의 자연과의 지속적인 만남을 제공하는 노력과 유아와 같은 눈으로 바라보고 표현하고 생명체의 입장을 생각해보 도록 제안하는 교사의 자세가 무엇보다 중요하다고 제안하는 바이다.
This study aimed at studying the effect of Nature-friendly activities on attitude and Knowledge comprehension process of young children. The subjects were 48 children who attend nursery. In order to collect qualitative data, participant observation was conducted for 13 months in 2 nursery in Seoul. I maintained a teacher’s journal of observations, including children’s behaviors and remarks meaningful to examiners found during the observation. A variety of nature-friendly activities offered to children towards positive attitude toward Nature through interest, curiosity, empathy, interaction. And the same time, It became an efficient method in Knowledge comprehension process toward Nature through concentration, discovery and expansion. In addition, The nature-friendly activities brought total development in children’s social, emotional and cognitive competence and made the children were able to get to understand about the concept of life, growth, change and organic relationships between Nature and people.
