Now, Korea has used four species of solid waste fuel with certification from Environment Ministry of Korea ; RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), RPF (Refused Plastic Fuel), TDF (Tire Derived Fuel) and WCF (Wood Chip Fuel). They have been used in many industrial boilers. We analyzed seven items on each four species solid waste fuel- size, moisture, ash, low heat value, total chlorine, sulfur and heavy metals. These items are regulated to use and transfer as solid waste fuel in Korea. In this study, we identified different properties of each solid waste fuel on the basis of analysis data for these 3 years in Korea, and considered process problem of solid waste fuels' production. We found that WCF is more affected by moisture condition of manufacturing process than other solid waste fuels and bad screening and sorting of raw materials cause the defective product with high ash content or high chlorine content. The information obtained from this study could contribute to manufacturing the solid waste fuel with good quality.
