Method from MSW(Municipal solid waste) to produce RDF is known to MBT (Mechanical Biological Treatment) process. It was developed by European country, under the regulation prohibiting from organic and combustible waste to landfill dumping. RDF shall be used for alternative fuel in Cement kiln and RDF boiler, general standard of fuel must be applied to this RDF, specially 4 categories - LHV, Chloride, ASH, particle size. Chloride in fuel can be diverted to strong corrosion material. To reduce Chloride in RDF product shall be inevitable step to design MBT process. In korean MSW, Chloride exist in the food waste as soluble, in the PVC as non-soluble. Many kinds of plastic contained Chloride as a coating and printing material. Korean MBT process using rectangular disk seperator and NIR(Near infrared ray) sorting machine can reduce Chloride in RDF. Heavy material including food waste and plastics can be seperated by disk seperator, light material contained high chloride contents can be seperated by NIR sorting machine. Combined process was designed with shredding and seperating by disk seperater and NIR together, we can control Chloride concentration below 1%, which is general standard in European user. Apart from above, paper will produce much ASH. It will be a good material recycle items, can be seperated from NIR also.
