This study is to investigate the feasibility of the RDF that paper is main component to clean
fuel and adsorbent by carbonization at different conditions. Synthetic RDF was prepared from
mixing paper 60wt%, PVC 3wt%, and LDPE 37wt%, respectively. Carbonization yield decreased
linearly according to increasing temperature from 300℃ to 550℃. Variations of yield of RDF and
synthetic RDF according to carbonization time at different carbonization temperature were
examined. It was more suitable to carbonize at 400℃ than another temperature and it was very
small the effect according to different carbonization atmosphere. Chlorine contents contained in
RDF could be eliminated up to 73wt% of total contents by carbonization. The highest iodine
number by carbonization was 477mg/g.
