Future education that creates new knowledge and value has been the topic as wide range of disciplines and technology are getting fused together in future society. 'Creativity' and 'personality' are the focal points of the future education of discovering and developing potential and desirable values of students. The future growth engine is in 'creative human capital' of thinking and creating something new. In the end, competitive power of nation is the competitiveness of creative manpower, and the end users are demanding for 'honourable professionals' with creativity and great personality. Therefore, cultivation of creativity and personality is an issue which is directly related with individual and national survival beyond the dimension of appropriate education. As creative manpower is considered as the national competitiveness recently, the introduction of 2009 curriculum revision, diversification of schools, and the admission officer system were the educational reform for preparing and establishing conditions to educate creativity and personality properly. However, schools who attempted diversification are showing a movement of going back to the original and substantial programs for selected students by the admission officer system are not being operated. Therefore, this study intends to grasp the meaning of proper personality education that society asks for and to grope for the direction of personality education in universities by investigating the personality education that are being conducted in university based on the theory of personality education that came to the fore with failure of moral education and lack of humanity. To this end, this study considered 'what is the actual condition of personality education in university?', 'what is the problem with personality education in university?', and 'what is the effective measures of personality education that need to be conducted in university?' as the research subject.
