본 연구는 예비교사들이 교육실습 중 수행한 셀프 연구 보고서의 내용을 분석하여 예비교 사들이 주로 고민하였던 문제들을 밝히고, 그들이 생성한 지식을 정리하였다. 이를 바탕으로 보다 나은 교육실습을 위한 개선방안을 찾아보았다. 연구결과에 따르면, 예비교사들이 주로 설정한 셀프 연구 문제와 연구결과 생성한 지식은 ‘아동’, ‘수업’, ‘예비교사 자신’에 관한 것으로 분류되었다. 먼저 셀프 연구 문제로 설정된 것 은 예비교사가 가진 특정 아동이나 아동 집단에 대한 선입견 또는 편견 문제, 수업 관련 문 제, 그리고 자신의 교직관과 성격 및 태도에 대한 문제였다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해 노력한 결과 예비교사 자신에 대한 지식이 증가하였으며, 이것은 교직관의 수정 및 재설정으 로 이어졌다. 그 외에 아동에 대한 애정, 이해, 배려의 증가, 아동 중심 수업으로의 변화를 위 한 지식들이 생성되었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 교육실습 개선 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 첫째, 다양한 아동들을 만날 수 있는 많은 기회를 제공하여야겠다. 둘째, 예비교사들이 자주 겪는 문제, 다 수의 예비교사들이 겪는 문제들에 대하여 교육실습 전에 미리 토의할 수 있는 기회가 필요하 다. 셋째, 교육실습 중 예비교사들의 자기반성적 활동이 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다.
In this study, student teachers in one of elementary teacher education institutions in Seoul, Korea, performed a self-study research during their practicum period. Their self-study research reports were analyzed in order to explore their research questions and research results during the practicum. The student teachers reported their difficulties and what they learned from the practicum. Their self-study research topics are categorized in following three areas: Children(elementary school student), teaching, and a student teacher him/herself. The problems in these three areas were found to be student teachers’ major difficulties. They reported personal biases against particular students, or certain groups of students. They also found difficulties in their teaching and problems in their characters and values. As they explore such difficulties and issues by examining the research questions, the results show that they have acquired increased affection toward students, better understanding of students, been able to perform students-centered teaching, and gained revised view on teaching professions as well as deepened understanding about their identities or roles as a teacher. Therefore, based on the research results, the more opportunities to meet children with diversity are needed for student teachers in order to reduce their bias toward the children. Additionally, the opportunity for the student teachers to openly discuss about possible difficulties that prospective student teachers would have is needed in advance of the practicum.
