This study aims to explore how Korean language instruction can be designed using storytelling. Several types and cases for Korean Language Arts teaching design using storytelling are presented : ① type of problem, ② type of experience ③ type of figure of speech, and ④ type of scenario. First, “type of problem” is the use of storytelling to support various situations for language use. Second, “type of experience” is the use of storytelling to design teachers’ and students’ experiecnes for the aims of the lesson and learning content. Third, “type of figure of speech” is the use of storytelling to use forms of representation such as metaphor and exemplification with the purpose of understanding and remembering contents. Fourth, “type of scenario” is the use of storytelling to cover a news story for learning content. This study provides teaching methods for teachers demonstraing how, what, and why Korean language instruction can be designed using storytelling.
