The purpose was to review Philippines, pre-service teacher education and teacher license examination and searching for implications. For this purpose, the history of pre-service teacher education and recent teacher education program and teacher license examination system were surveyed. The Filipino teacher education was started from Spanish period but the systematic pre-service teacher education was started from American era. The professional education courses are divided into theory and concept courses, methods and strategies courses, field courses, special topics courses and content courses. All pre-service teacher education student have to complete 174 units in general education courses and professional courses. To be a licensed teacher in Philippines, a graduate teacher education courses have to pass the licensure examination for teacher. It was suggested that professional education courses, especially methods and strategies courses units were strentherned and elevated the units per courses, field study courses were linked with theory/concept courses and method/strategies, and administered the examination for teacher licensure.
