In this study, I set the 4th and 5th grade children mathematically gifted in elementary school to pose
the various number calculating formulars, 4 4 4 4 = 0, 1, 2,⋅⋅⋅10, by using to +, -, ×, ÷, ( ). And I
analysed their products and compared 4th graders with 5th graders.
In 2003, I gave the task as stated above to 5th graders and got a significant result(Lim, Mun
Kyu,2007). To expand the target of my study, I used the same investigating method for children
mathematically gifted of 4th graders in elementary school(Lim, Mun Kyu,2010).
In this study, being gaps in years investigating, I readjusted to the analysing frames, and analysed and
compared their products of the math brains in 4th and 5th grade.
In posing the various number calculating formulars, being not greatly different of the products between
the math brains in 4th and 5th grade, some differences were in the problems and posing contents.
I think that they could confirmed personally the vareties of mathematics making of the various number
calculating formulars themselves,
