The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations among child care teachers' social
support, job satisfaction, and collective self-esteem and to find out the effects of social support
and job satisfaction on their collective self-esteem. Two hundred fifty child care teachers working
at child care centers in Gwangju were the subjects surveyed for the study. The main results
were as follows: First, the correlation analysis conducted to find out whether the social support,
job satisfaction, and collective self-esteem were correlated showed that job satisfaction was
significantly and positively correlated with all the subfactors of collective self-esteem. Second,
both social support and job satisfaction positively affected the collective self-esteem of child
care teachers. Therefore, child care teachers need to put their continuous effort in their
psychological and physical growth. In addition, psychological support services should be
provided through programs developed to give suitable feedback to the teachers.
