The purpose of this paper is to suggest a solution to the philosophical
(problem, skepticism about the external world, with a synthetical argument. In
this paper, I’ll try to justify next three propositions. First, the cause of
skepticism about the external world is rooted in the representational scheme.
Second, we cannot solve the problem with the way of epistemology. Third, we
can dissolve the problem with the way of Philosophy of language(semantical
considerations). I’ll handle these propositions in each part, and the third part
will be the most important part consisted of two verses. In the first verse of
the third part, I’ll introduce a kind of skepticism about external world, ‘Brain
in a Vat(BIV)’ of Hilary Putnam, and his argument on BIV. In the second
verse, I’ll construct an argument on skepticism about the external world with
‘Hinge proposition’ concept of 3rd Wittgenstein.
