교육 현장의 실태와 요구를 바탕으로 한 교과 교육과정 개정이 이루어지기 위해서는 교육 현장, 특 히 학교 교육과정 평가에 기반을 둔 교과 교육과정 질 관리가 체계적으로 다루어질 필요가 있다. 더 군다나 학교 교육과정의 편성이 교육 현장에 도입된 지 20년이 흘렀다. 따라서 이제 학교 교육과정 평가가 학교의 여러 가지 행사나 업무 편성 뿐 아니라 학교 교육의 핵심에 해당하는 교과 교육과정의 편성·운영의 개선과 관련하여 영향을 미쳐야 할 시기가 되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교과 교육과정 질 관리를 위한 국가, 시·도, 학교 수준의 학교 교육과정 평가의 개선 방향을 모색하고자 첫째, 국가 교육과정 총론을 중심으로 교과 교육과정 질 관리와 관련된 학교 교육과정 평가의 의미와 관련 규정 을 분석하고, 둘째, 분석한 규정에 따라 국가, 시·도, 학교 수준의 교과 교육과정 질 관리를 위한 학교 교육과정 평가 실태를 분석하였으며. 셋째, 분석한 규정과 실태에 따라 각 수준의 학교 교육과정 평가 가 각 수준의 자율성을 발휘하기에 적합한지, 학교 교육과정 평가 내용에 교과 교육과정이 충실히 반 영되어 있는지, 학교 교육과정 평가 결과가 교과 교육과정의 질 향상에 기여할 수 있는지의 세 가지 관점에서 논의하였다.
To realize the bottom-up curriculum design, school curriculum evaluation for subject curriculum quality-management has to be implemented systematically. It is time that the results of the school curriculum evaluation give the important effect on the improvement of the subject curriculum with the 20-years experience of the school-based curriculum development. The purpose of the study is to make improvement of the school curriculum evaluation for subject curriculum quality-management to do this. For this purpose, this study analyzed the regulations and the status-quo of the school curriculum evaluation in the national, local, and school level. And this study argued about the regulations and the status-quo of the school curriculum evaluation from the viewpoint of three questions; Are the regulations and the status-quo of the school curriculum evaluation appropriate for the autonomy and accountability of the each level? Are the subject curriculum reflected in the valuation criteria? Can the result of the evaluation contribute to the subject curriculum quality-management? As a result, this suggested the improvement of the school curriculum evaluation for subject curriculum quality-management of the each level.
