이 글에서는 다문화 그림동화를 활용한 국제이해교육의 내용 마련에 대한논의를 하였다. 이를 위해 그림동화의 개념과 가치를 살펴본 다음, 다문화 그림동화의 개념을 정리하였다. 이 글에서는 다문화 그림동화를 다문화적 인물, 배경, 내용 등을 통해 다문화적 가치와 문화 양태를 고양하려는 목적에서 창작된 그림동화로 규정하였다. 그런 다음 다문화 그림동화를 이해하고 해석하는 과정에서 서사적 상상력을 증진함으로써 어린이 독자들은 타자에 대한 배려와 이해를 하며, 이 과정에서 세계시민의식을 함양할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 서사적 자아로서 어린이 독자가 다문화 그림동화를 이해하는 것은 문화 다양성 이해와 상호문화적 감수성 증진과 밀접한 연관성이 있음을 밝혔다. 그런 다음 국제이해교육의 개념과 교육내용을 살펴본 후, 다섯 편의 다문화 그림동화들이 국제이해교육을 위한 교육 자료로서 갖는 의의를 ‘문화 다양성과 보편성 이해’의 측면에서 밝혔다.
This article was prepared to discuss the contents of Education for International Understanding leverage using picture books multi-cultural. In this article, defining the multi-cultural person, multi-cultural background, multi-cultural contents, in the picture books that have been created for the purpose of uplifting the aspect of the multi-cultural values and culture through such as the contents. Then, to understand the multi-cultural picture books, by promoting the epic imagination in the interpretation to the course, children readers, the understanding and consideration of the batter, obviously that to cultivate a world citizen consciousness in this process did. In addition, children readers as grand ego to understand the multi-cultural picture books is revealed that there is understanding and cross-cultural sensitivity enhancement and closely related to the culture of diversity. Then, after examining the concepts and educational content of international understanding education, clearly the significance that has as a teaching tool for multi-cultural picture books of title 5 is international understanding education from the point of view of “Understanding the diversity and universality of the culture” did.
