본 연구의 목적은 재가 중증장애인의 장애정체감과 자립생활과의 관계에서 임 파워먼트가 매개효과를 갖는가를 분석하는 것이다. 조사대상은 충북지역의 재가 중증장애인 206명이다. 분석한 결과, 장애정체감과 자립생활과의 관계에서 임파 워먼트는 완전매개효과를 갖는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구의 의의는 중증장애인 의 자립생활에 이르는 과정에서 장애정체감뿐 만아니라 임파워먼트도 중요하다 는 사실을 발견한 것이다. 이러한 의의와 결과를 근거로 하여 장애정체감과 임파 워먼트를 강화하기 위한 방법으로 장애정체감을 향상시키는 프로그램을 마련해 야하고 이 때에 임파워먼트를 고려하여 접근해야하며 자립생활에서 중요한 활동 보조서비스도 확대해야할 것이다. 아울러 중중장애인들이 임파워먼트를 표현할 수 있는 사회환경을 조성해야할 것이고 또한 최근의 개별유연화정책에 따라 개 인별 예산제도의 도입을 제안하였다. 이어서 본 연구에서의 제한점을 살펴보고 추후 연구과제를 제시하였다.
The purpose of this research was to study the impact of disability identity on independent living of th severe disabled and verify mediating effect of empowerment. Subjects of this research are 206 severe disabled who live in Chungcheongbuk-do. The research results are as follows. It was possible to confirm that disability identity of the severe disabled is the main variable on independent living. However, empowerment seemed to have complete mediating effect in relationship between disability identity and independent living of the severe disabled. This result of research is meaningful that it found a fact which increasing empowerment of the severe disabled are possible to increase their independent living. Based on result and meaning of this research, we should be prepare a program to improve disability identity, and approached to consider empowerment. Personal assistance services will also have to expand as an important activity in the independent living. In addition, the severe disabled people will have to create a social environment in which to express their empowerment. and I also proposed the introduction of a personal budget system in accordance with personalisation policy. I look at the limitations of this research and present ideas for further research.
