연구목적 본 연구는 서울 지역에 있는 주간보호시설의 작업치료와 물리치료의 현황을 비교해 봄으로써 주간 보호시설의 작업치료 현황을 제시하고자하며 차후 주간보호시설 작업치료의 제도적 장치 마련에 필 요한 기초자료를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법 조사대상은 서울특별시 25개 구에 소재하고 있는 82개의 노인주간보호시설로 5월 18일부터 22일까 지 작업치료와 물리치료 현황에 대해 전화 설문을 실시하였다. 주간보호시설이 복지관 부설기관인 경우 주간보호시설뿐만 아니라 복지관 소속의 작업치료사와 물리치료사도 포함하였으며, 작업치료와 물리치료 프로그램은 주간보호시설에서 제공하고 있는 서비스 프로그램에 작업치료, 물리치료라고 정확하게 명시한 경우에만 인정하였다. 작업치료실과 물리치료실 개설에서는 작업치료실과 물리치료 실이라고 명시하고 독립적인 공간을 가지고 있는 경우에만 인정하였다. 응답한 내용은 기호화 과정 을 거친 후 통계처리하였다 . 연구결과 물리치료사는 36개(43.9%) 시설에 46명(56.1%)이 근무하고 있으며, 작업치료사는 3개(3.7%) 시설 에 3명(3.7%)이 근무하고 있다. 물리치료실은 53개 시설에서 개설되어 64.6%였으며, 작업치료실은 10개 시설에서 개설되어 12.2%를 나타내었다. 물리치료프로그램은 72개 시설에서 서비스를 제공하 여 전체의 87.8%였으며 작업치료프로그램은 49개 시설에서 제공하여 59.8%를 나타내었다. 결론 본 연구 결과를 통하여 현재 주간보호시설에서 작업치료가 물리치료에 비교하여 치료실 개설과 치 료사 고용에 있어 현저하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 문제점들을 개선하기 위해 주간보호 시설 인력배치기준에서 작업치료실 개설과 작업치료사 고용 및 역할에 대한 제도적 근거가 필요하 다. 또한 주간보호시설에서 작업치료의 필요성과 당위성을 알리기 위한 자구적인 노력이 필요하리 라 생각된다.
Objective : This study intended to suggest that present status of occupational therapy in day care center for elderly by comparing the present status of occupational therapy and physical therapy on seoul. Another purpose of this study was to provide the basic data to develop the policies and system in day care center for the elderly. Methods : This study was performed from May 18th to May 22nd, 2009. Subjects were eighty-two day care center in seoul. Data were collected by telephone survey and collected data were analyzed by the descriptive statistic. Results : The results of this study were follow: 1) Although physical therapy room was established in 36 centers of 82 day care centers for the elderly, occupational therapy room was established in the 3 among 82 day care center for the elderly. 2) Physical therapists are employed 46 people, but occupational therapists are employed only 3 people. 3) Physical therapy program service provide in 53 place of 82 day care center for the elderly, but occupational therapy program service enforces in 49 place of 82 day care center for the elderly Conclusion : The result indicated that 1) Employment of occupational therapists and establishment of therapy room was lower than that of physical therapy. 2) They have need of system basis for occupational therapist employment and occupational therapy room so that these problems would be improved on placement human resource standards in day care center for the elderly. 3) We consider that day care center makes on effect to announce them necessity and feasibility of occupational therapy.
