Objective : This study is to find out the effect of Constraint-induced movement therapy on the dexterity
and release ability of the affected hand in hemiplegia with TBI and to look for ways to improve
the adult occupational therapy.
Methods : The way of this study was a alternating treatment design. The subject was 1 hemiplegia with
TBI lived in Tong-young and studied on November 30th, 2006 to December 14th, 2006. The
result analysis represented by average value, visual graph and VCR analysis.
Results : The average of each dexterity and release ability of this subject had improved by the
Constraint-induced movement therapy more than Constraint-induced therapy. The CIMT more
than CIT improved dexterity ability as increased number of 0.25 pieces and release ability as
reduced time of 2.575 seconds.
Conclusion : The result of this study indicates that the CIMT more than CIT had a positive effect on improving
the ability of dexterity and release of affected upper extremity in hemiplegia with TBI
patient.
