The purpose of this study is observe the effects of band performance-oriented music therapy on the self-efficacy and sociality of adolescents in community children centers. This study established the following research problems regarding self-efficacy and sociality. Research problem 1. Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the self-efficacy of adolescents in community children centers? 1-1 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the confidence of adolescents in community children centers? 1-2 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the self-regulatory efficacy of adolescents in community children centers? 1-3 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the task difficulties of adolescents in community children centers? Research problem 2. Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the sociality of adolescents in community children centers? 2-1 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the diligence of adolescents in community children centers? 2-2 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the responsibility of adolescents in community children centers? 2-3 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the cooperativity of adolescents in community children centers? 2-4 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the compliance of adolescents in community children centers? 2-5 Does band performance-oriented music therapy affect the autonomy of adolescents in community children centers? Research problem 3. What qualitative changes occur for adolescents in community children centers which have conducted band performance-oriented music therapy? The researcher recruited subjects at a community children center in C city. Subjects were adolescents from grades one to three in middle school and selection was made through prior scale examinations and interviews and observational analysis was conducted at each session for qualitative analysis. Also, it was observed whether subjects experienced significant change in their relationships with themselves and with others through band performance-oriented music therapy through post interviews. Results from this study were as follows. First, prior and post measurements showed that there were positive changes in the self-efficacy of subjects through band performance-oriented music therapy programs for self-efficacy. Second, prior and post measurements showed that there were positive changes in sociality enhancement through band performance-oriented music therapy programs for sociality. Also, post interviews after program conclusions showed that subjects showed positive change in their relationships with themselves and with others. These research results prove that music therapy programs conducted for the enhancement of self-efficacy and sociality are effective in enhancing the self-efficacy and sociality of adolescents in community children centers. Therefore, this study implies that music therapy programs can be healing tools that have a positive effect on the self-efficacy and sociality of adolescents in community children centers.
