This article is a discussion to raise research interest in the reforming of the teacher - parents
relationship structure. Both the role of the teacher and the role of the parents are important in education.
Therefore, this article was discussed from the viewpoint that ‘if parents need to know teacher culture,
teachers should also know parent culture’. The limitations of the study of teacher culture based on
external(emic) perspective were pointed out. It also suggests that when studied from an external(etic)
perspective, it can contribute to the understanding of parents’ consciousness and behavior about the school
and the teacher, and to the restructuring of the teacher culture. From a future perspective, the necessity of
reconstructing the relationship between teachers and parents is eliminated. In this article, a horizontal and
cooperative education culture between teachers and parents is suggested as a desirable relationship. For this
relationship, it is suggested that teacher culture should be changed from authoritative professional culture
to service-oriented professional culture and changed from one-sided communication to two-way
communication culture.
