The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational needs of pre-service teacher in
teacher education curriculum of non-teachers college for improving teacher professionalism
by comparing how students evaluate as-is status and should be status on teaching-learning
process.
For this, based on literature review, questionnaire were developed and T-test, Borich
Assessment Model were used to analyze. Participants were 103 university students, who
took a teaching practice course and completed in teaching practicum. In the questionnaire,
6 subjects, administrative support, teaching-learning methods, instructors' professionalism,
assessment methods, teaching professionalism, and teaching practicum were included.
The result were as follows: based on total respondents, professionalism and teaching
practicum stands at a low level currently which requires further improvement in the future.
In addition, the result of Borichi's need assesment showed that there exists meaningful
difference depending scores. high score group showed secondary teacher certification
examination readiness and teaching-learning methods as the most needed one. middle and
low score group identified professionalism and teaching practicum..
