The purpose of this study is to explore solution-focused brief therapy(SFBT) strategies for facilitating the
healing and the posttaumatic growth of trauma survivors. For this purpose, after reviewing the literature of
psychological trauma, posttraumatic stress, and posttraumatic growth, we proposed strategies to facilitate
posttraumatic growth, by applying SFBT. We suggest the following as the most important SFBT strategies
for facilitating posttraumatic growth: acceptance and empathy from the therapist's ‘expert companion’
attitude, giving clients information about symptoms and the stages of healing, building the goal of the
therapy, and posing questions and holding conversations to facilitate posttraumatic growth.
