The main purpose of this article was to examine the mediating effect of self-directed learning ability on
the relationship between job rotation and job performance. For the purpose of the research, the survey
was conducted among 250 manufacturing workers who have been working at K corporation in Korea,
and after deleting 50 of incomplete responses, a total of 200 responses were used to analyze the results.
The reliability and validity of survey measurement were verified through previous research, and they
were verified again through factor analysis, and after the multiple regression analysis was conducted.
The results of this study are as follows: First, personal development as one of the sub-factors of the job
rotation, positively affects all sub-factors(task performance, contextual performance) of the job
performance. Second, self-directed learning ability plays a meditation effect on the relationship between
personal development as one of the sub-factors of the job rotation and job performance. In conclusion,
clarifying the purpose of employees' job rotation, suitable target selection and improving learning
conditions, they will help to improve job performance of the shop floor workers.
