The teaching on non-verbal communication is an important educational content in the oral communication education. However, the teaching on non-verbal communication is not done properly due to the lacks of related research on it. Among others, there is a lot of confusion and myth about eye movement during deception. This study conducted a basic study to research how people move their eyes during deception, by using experimental methods. The research problems of this study are as follows. First, is it true that people usually look at his/her upper left when s/he try to remember, and s/he look at his/her upper right when s/he is lying? Secondly, is it true that people who sees his/her upper left during remembering looks at his/her upper right during deception, on the contrary that people who sees his/her upper right during remembering looks at his/her upper left during deception? Third, what is the eye movement that can be used as an objective indicator to detect deception? This article is the answer to these three research questions.
