교사양성기관간의 질적 격차를 줄이고 교사교육에 대한 사회적 공신력 확보 및 수월성 제고를 위한 제도적 방안에 대한 사회적 요구가 점증하고 있다. 우리나라에서는 교육대학원의 교육여건 및 운영실태를 체계적으로 평가하고 공표함으로써 교원양성기관의 질적 개선을 유도하고자, 교육 대학원에 대한 평가가 현재까지 2차에 걸쳐 실시되었다. 본 연구는 현행 교육대학원 평가체제를 진단하고 문제점을 분석, 향후 교육대학원 평가체제의 발전방향을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 현행 평가체제의 문제점을 평가의 목적, 평가의 내용, 평 가의 방법 및 절차, 평가의 결과 등으로 나누어 분석한다. 평가의 목적에서는 평가 목적의 진술에 대해서, 평가의 내용에서는 교육프로그램 영역과 교육여건 영역의 배점 문제에 대해서, 평가의 방 법 및 절차에서는 평가단 구성에 대해서, 평가의 결과에서는 현실적인 평가 기준의 마련과 질적 개선을 위한 시스템 구축 등에 대해서 논의한다. 교육대학원 평가체제의 발전을 위한 과제로는 평가인정제의 도입, 개방체제적 평가시스템 구축, 합리적인 평가지표의 개발, 평가결과를 활용한 교육대학원 재구조화 등을 제안한다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the present Evaluation System of the Graduate School of Education and then suggest the measures for improving the evaluation system in the future. For these purposes, this study reviewed and analyzed the results of researches which were done on the present evaluation system of the Graduate School of Education. Based on the results of the study on the present evaluation system of the Graduate School of Education, this study set up issues or problems related to the present evaluation system of the Graduate School of Education. Finally, we proposed policy implications for the improvement of the evaluation system of the Graduate School of Education. The some suggested alternatives to improve the present evaluation system of the Graduate School of Education are as the following; 1) the induction of a new evaluation accreditation system, 2) the structuring of the open evaluation system, 3) the development of the reasonable evaluation criteria and standards, 4) the restructuring of the evaluation system by making full use of the evaluation results.
