The feminization in teaching force can have significant effects on school
management(guidance, school curriculum, personnel management, etc). In consideration
of these effects, this study analyzed the effect of feminization in teaching force on
schools and tried to suggest for better operation of schools.
For the purpose of the study, the researcher selected one of qualitative research
methods, interview as a main research method and interviewed five principals who
work at schools in one of metropolitan cities.
The study find that as contrasted to the opinions of persons concerned who insisted a
quota system for male teachers, the female teachers are usually more effective than male
teachers in terms of guidance and instruction. In other aspects of the school
management, however, male teachers are more effective than female teachers in areas of
planning and implementing of the plan, and various school activities. Also, as increasing
the number of female teachers, principals in the study insisted that they have some
difficulties in assigning school works and grade level. The participants of the study
charged off it to unique characteristics of female teachers, namely pregnancy, child
delivery, nurturing and our attitudes on females' role in home and work places.
