This study was developed to evaluate the effectiveness of a job training and social work education program for college students regarding to practice competence. To this end, the program was designed to offer them a series of fourteen lectures for three months, 42 hours in total, and a quasi-experimental design was employed to evaluate the difference between pre-test and post-test scores of participants of both experimental group(N=22, Mdiff=.563) and control group(N=41, Mdiff=.064) on their social work practice. Also, pre-test and follow-up test scores were compared to confirm whether the effect was sustained. The results showed that while the pre-post difference was statistically significant for experimental group participants(t=6.485, p=.000), the difference was not significant for control group students. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the program was sustained among students in the experimental group at a 3-month follow-up test(t=3.131, p=.004). In conclusion, the social work practice education program for job training, in fact, proved to be effective in changing the practice ability for college students needs to be extended toward understanding and accepting essential job skills adapted to social work field.
