The purpose of this study is to investigate weather High school
Diversification policy affect quality of students' school lives. To achieve this
research objective, data were utilized from data of 「Analysis on the Actual
Status and the Quality of School Education in Korea: A Study on the High
Schools(2009, 2012)」 conducted by Korea Educational Development Institute,
and Multi-level model analysis were used. Student-level variables considered
in this study include gender, SES, intrinsic motivation, self-esteem, parents'
attitude, School-level variables include the school type by
foundation(National·Public/private), school SES, teacher's morale and
passion, teachers' focusing on achievement. Especially the school
type(general/special purpose school) was a major variable to study. The
results of this study showed that, when controlling student and school level
variables, in 2009 the special-purpose school was lower than the general
school in all variables about quality of school life except curriculum
satisfaction and friendship. However after High school Diversification policy,
in 2012 the special-purpose school was higher than the general school.
