This paper is intended for the basic study about the quality of adolescents’lives,
belonging to low-income class. The researches related with quality of life have been
done broadly home and abroad. However, definition and concepts, constituent factors and
domains of measurement were different according to the scholars. Accordingly, in this
paper, I tried to arrange concepts and constituent factors, measurement domains, scale
through the analysis of doctoral theses and KCI listed in recent domestic studies for the
division of appropriate scales for measuring the quality of life.
As a result of research, recent researches on the quality of life show too much
inclination to theoretical ones, while the number of experimental ones is very low.
However, it can be encouraging that among experimental researches, the number of
psychological therapy program study in the state of status-quo increased a little after
2010.
Furthermore, as the ratio of psychotherapy program such as art therapy reaches 64
percent among whole experimental researches, it suggests expansive applicability of
psychotherapy in the studies on the quality of life. In contrast, the result of the
tendency of recent researches on adolesents’ quality of life in low-income class was
very poor in that doctoral thesis as well as authorized articles totaled only 21.
Also presented results of this study, it will propose psychological well-being scale was
presented by Ryff et al(1989; Ryff & Keyes, 1995), as suitable scale the quality of life on
low-income youth in a psychotherapy program.
