This study aims to elucidate the factors related to medical management of depression in patients with
lung cancer. Data were surveyed using interview and questionnaires by 172 patients who visited a general
hospital which was located in Metropolitan area from January 26 to February 27, 2015. The results of this
study are as follows. First, the groups who do exercise regularly are significantly decreased than the groups
who don’t exercise in the risk of the depression in lung cancer patient (OR=0.42, 95% Cl=0.18-0.95).
Secondly, the groups who do alcohol consumption over 300g was significantly higher than groups who
don’t drink alcohol at all (OR=8.79, 95% Cl=4.81-19.32) in the risk of the depression in lung cancer
patients. In conclusion, the present findings suggest that food therapy program has a positive effect on
prevention of depression in lung cancer patients.
