This study is a descriptive research, which identified the extent of emotional labor and long term care
service self-efficacy of elderly medical welfare facilities workers and explored the effects of those two
factors on their job satisfaction. For its research, the study conducted a questionnaire survey for 155
workers at six geriatric hospitals of D city form April, 18 to April 26, 2014 after getting approval from
IRB. Collected data was analyzed by using SPSS Win 19.0 program. The level of emotional labor marked
3.63, long term service self-efficacy marked 4.44 and their job satisfaction marked 4.13. In regard to
relationship between emotional labor, long term care service self-efficacy and job satisfaction, there was
statistically significant correlation only between long term care service self-efficacy and job satisfaction. The
long term service self-efficacy, religion and night shift explained 34.1% of job satisfaction. Therefor, long
term care service self-efficacy affects as a precedence of their job satisfaction, there must follow specialized
and systematic education for them to enhance their long term care service self-efficacy.
