We analyzed current states of extension of retirement age in insurance industry and productivity of them
as they are getting older. We applied the long-service wage and productivity wage profiling system and in
the results, the peak of the productivity of employees in insurance industry is 48 years. In this regards, the
productivity of them is much lower than those of other industry such as manufacturing. This means the
human resource management is necessary for them. This action will be effective for HR staffs in insurance
industry and also policy makers who are planning to prepare some supports system for the employees in
insurance industry. We suggested this action should be designed to upgrade the competitiveness and
productivity of them by assigning strategic human resource management.
