This study intends to verify from what route the life satisfaction and job satisfaction are affected from
the individual phase of the laborers who have responsibilities in the workplace as well as in the family. To
accomplish this, this study has intended to set the self-esteem and positive emotion of the individual as the
intervening variables and verify what effects the multi-dimensional elements of work-family conflicts have
on the self-esteem and positive emotions felt by individuals. To perform this study, questionnaires were
sent to the workers in Seoul and capital areas and a total of 150 valid questionnaires were collected and
utilized for analysis. The results showed that both work-burden and family-burden affect self-esteem and
work-burden affects negatively positive emotion and the work-family burden positively. And, the role of
self-esteem and positive emotions, one of the objectives of this study, although self-esteem also enhances
life satisfaction and job satisfaction of the members, positive emotions have much higher effects, and thus
securing positive emotions is very important
