The purpose of this paper was to identify the types of the human’s subjectivity toward the adaptation of
University students to dormitory lives. This study is exploratory research through Q-methodology. From 186
Q population, we selected 34 Q sampling. Q-sorting was done by 40 of P-sample. When the Q-sorting is
completed on 9 point scale. Principal Component Analysis identify 4 types of the adaptation of University
students to Dormitory Lives. Type 1 is adapting go through the positive human relationships, ‘Relationship
oriented’, Type 2 is the freedom to pursue an active outdoor activities, ‘Free oriented’, Type 3 is the first
time based on a strong sense of responsibility to be alone, ‘Independent oriented’, and Type 4 is want to
receive respect for human space and privacy, ‘Individual Oriented’. Based on these results, we suggest that
appropriate environmental intervention and psychological counseling method at the university level should be
based on this tendency.
