본 연구의 목적은 퇴계 수양론의 핵심인 ‘경(敬)’의 관점에서 『2015 도덕과 교육과정』에 처음 등장한 ‘도덕함’을 바라보고, 여기에 근거해 도 덕함이 지니고 있는 한계들을 보완하려는 것이다. 이 작업을 통해 직접 적으로는 도덕함의 의미를 더욱 분명하게 하고, 궁극적으로는 퇴계 사상 이 우리가 살고 있는 현재에도 유의미하게 재해석, 재탄생될 수 있음을 보이려고 하였다. 본 연구는 학교 도덕교육의 근간인 도덕과 교육과정과 퇴계로 대표되는 우리 전통사상의 접점을 찾으려고 시도한다는 점에서, 기존의 연구들과 차이가 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 『2015 도덕과 교육과정』에서 중요한 비중을 차지 하고 있는 도덕함의 등장 과정과 의미에 대해 분석, 고찰하였다. 이어서 도덕함이 내포하고 있는 한계들을 지적한 뒤, 퇴계가 강조했던 경의 의 미와 요령들에 비추어 크게 두 가지 측면에서 도덕함을 보완하고자 시도 하였다. 첫 번째는 ‘도덕함의 구성 요소들에 대한 개념적 설명은 타당하 며, 도덕함이란 용어는 그 요소들을 모두 아우를 수 있는가?’하는 것이 고, 두 번째는 ‘도덕함을 구현할 수 있는 근거 있는 방법에는 무엇이 있 는가?’하는 것이다. 이 같은 논의 과정을 거쳐, 본 연구에서는 도덕함을 경으로 치환시켜서 바라볼 경우 상당한 정도의 보완과 해법 제시가 가능 하다는 결론을 도출하였다.
The purpose of this study is to look at ‘doing moral’, which appeared in <2015 moral education curriculum>, from the perspective of Gyeong that is the core of ToeGye self-cultivation theory, and it is going to supplement the limit that ‘doing moral’ has through the Gyeong. Through this work, it directly clarify the meaning of ‘doing moral’, and ultimately it aimed to prove that ToeGye’s ideology may be meaningfully reinterpreted in modern time. In this study, firstly, it analyzed about the appearance process and meaning of ‘doing moral’ that is important part of <2015 moral education curriculum>. Also, it tried to supplement ‘doing moral’ in terms of two thing by reflecting the meaning of Gyeong that ToeGye empathized after pointing out the limits that ‘doing moral’ has. First, is the conceptual explanation about elements of ‘doing moral’ reasonable? and can ‘doing moral’ embrace all the elements? Second, how to realize ‘doing moral’? Through this discussion, it has concluded that presenting considerable level of supplementation and solution will be possible if it looks at ‘doing moral’ by substituting the Gyeong.
