Drawing longitudinal data(3rd∼5th) from a Community Child Center Child Panel Survey, this
study examines predictors of the early adolescent delinquency using community child centers
after school. The results of panel logit analysis show that gender(boys), adolescent’s stress,
parental abuse are the predictors to increase the likelihood of delinquency. On the other hand,
academic achievement, satisfaction with teacher at community child center are more likely to
lower the odds of delinquency. Moreover, a significant negative interaction effect between girls
and attachment to peers are identified, implying that strong attachment to peers among boys
increases the likelihood of delinquency. Implications and suggestions from the findings are also
discussed in order to find the ways to reduce the odds of delinquency of the early adolescents
using community child centers.
