In the era of AI, all societal area including education will change with new digital technology. Thinking
with the educational environment, emergence of the highly ‘intelligent’ machine shall be the most
innovative medium for educational development to teachers, students and others. Otherwise, digital divide
derived from the inequal access to digital divide, different digital knowledge and literacy, and short of
digital democracy is pointed out as the overwhelming challenge to overcome for the educational minority in
this digital era. However, surely, digital innovation deserves to be celebrated as new momentum for
educational innovation not only on its own contents’ quality and style; but also on its new movement to
open and share.
This study reviews the causes and momentum upon OER movement; for sharing culture on education field; from primay to higher education field. Those OER cases have risen as progress of educational
technology, rise of open culture and contents movement, and innovative marketing and societal contribution
of universities; MOOC. Open Educational Resource (OER); what changes OER now draws on existing
education ecosystem so far; and where OER goes here after based on its own potential and controversies
to be concerned.
