영문초록

In this thesis, we would like to see how much disciplining language with threats have changed over the 13 years , especially on the disciplining language with threats about impairment. The subjects of this research were 423 parents. In order to see the transition from 1997, we had almost the same research items as Tokuda (1998) On the disciplining language about impairments “if you drop your food , you will go blind" and “you will go deaf" , parents use less often in 2010 than 1997. And the rate their parents say to them decreased a small amount. We can recognize that the parents gradually started to use them to their children less and less. We consider that for this background, understanding for impairments is gradually starting to spread among the parents who have toddlers Furthermore, both in 2010 and 1997, the parents often use the disciplining language with threats about TV such as “if you watch TV too close, your eyes will go bad" and “if you watch too much TV, your eves will go bad." Both in 2010 and 1997, there are many parents who were told by their parents the same. However, there is no scientific evidence showing that watching TV close by or watching TV for too long will lower their eye vision.
