This study was intended to investigate the effect of art therapy on traumatized self-system, depression,
and interpersonal problems of a woman with interpersonal trauma experience. The participant of this
research was a single, 33-year-old woman. The art therapy program was conducted 62 times in total, from
August 17th to September 11th, 2015 (once a week or every two weeks, 50 minutes a session). The
measurement used the TSSS(Traumatic Self-System Scale) developed by Jin-yi Chang(2010); the K-BDI(Beck
Depression Inventory, Korean version) created by Beck(1967) and standardized by Young-ho Lee(1993); and
the KIIP(Korean inventory of interpersonal problems) developed by Horowits, et al(1988), restructured by
Alden, Wiggins, and Princus(1990), and standardized by Younghwan Kim, et al(2002). The data analyses
were used for the pre-test, post-test, follow-up test and follow-up management test, and percentage of TSSS,
K-BDI, and KIIP. The results of this are as follows. First, art therapy had a positive effect on a woman
with interpersonal trauma experience with traumatized self-system, Second, art therapy had a positive effect
on a woman with interpersonal trauma experience with depression. Third, art therapy had a positive effect
on a woman of interpersonal trauma experience with interpersonal problems. Therefore, it can be said that
art therapy had a positive effect on a woman with interpersonal trauma experience with a traumatized
self-system, depression, and interpersonal problems.
