본 연구는 대통령 선거가 교육 영역에 중요한 관심사임에도 불구하고 제한적으로 탐 구되고 있는 교육학적 탐구의 범위를 넘어 어떻게 교육정치학의 주된 탐구 영역으로 정립될 수 있는지 그 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 탐구대상으로서 대통령 선거를 개념적으로 확립하고 정치학적 관심의 면모를 탐구 내용과 방법 면에서 밝혀 이를 바탕으로 대통령 선거 현상에 대한 교육정치학적 탐구의 의미와 탐구 주제 및 방 법을 제시하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대통령 선거과정을 교육정치학의 한 연구 분야로 장착할 수 있도록 탐구 방향의 정립을 위한 시사점을 다음과 같이 제시하 였다. 첫째, 대통령 선거의 교육정치학적 접근은 정치학적 접근과 다양한 주제와 분석 모형 그리고 방법론적 다양성의 공유를 통해 연구의 범위와 깊이를 확장하되 궁극적으 로 교육학의 분과 학문으로서의 정체성을 공고히 하는 방향으로 정련되는 것이 바람직 하다. 둘째, 대통령 선거의 교육정치학적 탐구의 주제와 내용 확장을 위한 연구자들의 문제의식과 관점의 깊이와 넓이가 더해져야 한다. 셋째, 대통령 선거의 교육정치학적 탐구에서 방법론적 다양성과 함께 엄격성이 추구되어야 한다.
This study is intended to explore any possibilities for presidential election as a field of inquiry beyond the limited range of educational inquiry, in spite of its significance of interest. For the purpose this study attempts to articulate the concept of presidential election and to unravel its political interests in terms of its contents and methods, and suggests the meaning of educational politics inquiry and the themes and :methods for its inquiry. Baesd on these results, this study recommends some implications for establishing the process of presidential election to be a field of research in the politics of education as the followings: (1) It is desirable that the approach of educational politics to presidential election collaborates various themes, analytic frameworks, and methodology in its inquiry with the political science, and thus extends the range and depth of its research, while it should be refined towards strengthening the identity of the politics of education as a branch discipline of education. (2) Researchers in the politics of education need to make their range and depth extend on research themes and contents of educational politics to presidential election. (3) Both the methodological diversity and rigor should be pursued in the educational politics inquiry on presidential election.
