GNH is based on the Buddhist thought and seeks to promote the happiness
of the community including the growth of individuals. GNH education is a
school education program based on this ideology and includes its value and
practice as an improvement plan.
Bhutan's GNH and its education show us that the national development and the
purpose of life should be based on the happiness and quality of life rather than
the economic growth and material abundance. It gives us a chance to reflect on
our recognition and attitude. In this point, the case in Bhutan provides an
interesting approach to individual life, national policy, and school education.
