This study were to identify the factors related to the lumbar spinal stenosis incidence over middle-aged
adults. Data were surveyed using interview and questionnaires by 126 patients who had visited a general
hospital located in C area from November 27 to December 28, 2016. General characteristics of study
subjects were performed by Chi-square test. Multiple logistic regression analysis was carried out to identify
the factors associated with lumbar spinal stenosis. The results were as follows. Firstly, in terms of marital
status, experimental groups showed a significantly higher rate than control groups(X2=3.86, p<.05).
Secondly, in terms of lumbar exercise, experimental groups who didn’t exercise regularly significantly
higher than control groups(OR=2.15, 95% Cl=1.64-8.53). Thirdly, subjects who didn’t drink milk were 1.8
times higher in the incidence of lumbar spinal stenosis than subjects who drink milk(OR=1.8, 95%
Cl=0.93-7.26). ln conclusion, the factors influencing on incidence of lumbar spinal stenosis can be applied
to develop health intervention to promote physical change among patients with lumbago.
