본 연구의 목적은 어린이집 조부모 자원봉사자와 함께 하는 그림책 읽기 관련 활동이 만 2세 영아의 정서지능 발달에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 실험집단 16명, 비교집단 17명으로 총 33명의 영아이며, 8주간 총 16회에 걸쳐 활동이 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 16.0 프로그램을 이용하여 집단간 차이를 알아보기 위한 독립표본 t 검증과 ANCOVA를 실시하였다. 본 연 구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 어린이집 조부모 자원봉사자와 함께 하는 그림책 읽기 관련 활동은 영아의 정서지능 전체와 정서지능의 하위요소인 자기정서의 인식 및 표현, 자기정서의 이용, 타인정서의 인 식 및 배려, 교사와의 관계, 또래와의 관계에서 유의미한 향상을 나타낸 반면 감정조절 및 충동억제에 서는 유의미한 향상이 나타나지 않았다. 결론적으로 어린이집 조부모 자원봉사자와 함께 하는 그림책 읽기 관련 활동은 만 2세 영아의 정서지능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 영아의 정서지능을 높이는데 매 우 유용한 활동임을 확인하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
The objective of this study was to apply picturebook reading activities with grandparents volunteer in child care center to toddlers and then examine its effect on toddlers' development of emotional intelligence. For this, study questions were established as follows: 'What is the effect of picturebook reading programs with grandparents volunteer in child care center to toddlers' emotional intelligence?' Study findings are as follows: Picturebook reading activities with grandparents had positive effects on toddlers' emotional intelligence on the whole?' In detail, among the six sub-variables of emotional intelligence, picturebook reading activities with grandparents had significant positive effects on such five sub-variables of emotional intelligence as 'awareness and expression of self-emotion', 'use of self-emotion', 'awareness and consideration of other's emotion', 'relationship with teachers' and 'relationship with peers', whereas it had no significant effects on 'emotional control and impulse suppression.' In conclusion, this study seems to be meaningful in that it verified the fact that picturebook reading activities with grandparents volunteer in child care center have positive effects on toddlers' emotional intelligence and are a very useful method of teaching and learning in the increase of toddlers' emotional intelligence.
